Ann Hendricks Taylor

This truly has been one of the most extraordinary photo hauls I have ever come across. It all started with Fontabelle Baker, a university woman at Ohio State University, of whom I found her university portrait and a few group photos of her.

I then came across some photos of her mother, Ada Taylor Baker.

We wrote about Ada's mother, Emma Bowen Taylor, Ada's grandmother Eliza Ellen Robinson Taylor, and how we are featuring our oldest (but not last!) subject in this massive family tree, Ada's great-grandmother, or Fontabelle's great-great-grandmother, Ann Hendricks Taylor.

That is five generations of photos found at Miss Pixies, and I cannot wait to return them to family.

Ann Hendricks was born in 1798 to William and Susannah Hendricks. She married David Taylor on September 8, 1814, with whom she had two children: William Hendricks Taylor (the husband of Eliza Ellen Robinson Taylor) and Susannah Taylor. When David died rather prematurely, at age 32, Ann remarried his cousin, John Taylor, and had two more sons, David and Daniel.

Of course, the rest of the family tree is so conveniently written out on the back of this 8.5x11in cardstock, which appears to feature a re-print of some sort.

This was one of the most exciting finds to come across, as it is a photo of the eldest relative in the family. This, of course, means more possible descendants to track down, thus a greater chance of returning the photo to family.

Are you related to the Hendricks or Taylor families?
